St. Lucia experienced one of its worst disasters since Hurricane Allen in 1981 with the passage of Hurricane Tomas in October 2010. Tomas dealt a damaging blow to life and property here in St. Lucia particularly to the agriculture and industry sectors. The SLDB has been providing support to all its customers especially its agricultural clients and as part of its contribution to Hurricane Tomas relief, donated one of two 20 ft containers of water received from the Dominica AID Bank and ADBEC to NEMO for distribution island-wide. Boxes of water have also been delivered to a few schools around the island in need of this essential commodity.
